This ‘new gospel’ group brings together young artists, seven singers and three musicians, whose origins lie in traditional gospel. Their wish has been to pool their respective experience for the benefit of developing this contemporary music, with influences from R&B, jazz, soul, and afro-Caribbean, as well as original compositions.

The dynamism of the group gives rise to a music which is alive, and can be deep and generous in emotion. Built in part on adaptations of Richard Smallwood or Kirk Franklin ( two of the most talented composers of contemporary gospel), Anthem of Praise has also created its own titles, crossbreeding their Gospel to a point of performing with classical orchestration.

Anthem of Praise is composed of artists whose faith is deep and whose ethic is admirable. We recommend them for a concert which is masterful, engaging, and fundamentally humane.
